After running for council member in fall of 2019, Forrest Hudson stepped down on July 19th of 2022. As of Tuesday, August 16th, Brookwood Town Council welcomes back a previous member.

Councilman Allen Abston is once again a member of the council, having not held office since he ran against Mayor Joe Barger for his previous position as Seat 1 on town council in 2016. Abston previously served two terms on the council in 2008 and 2012.

The council decided on Abston unanimously over six other candidates. “The application process had an extensive format. The candidates had to write an essay and fill out an application, submit that into town hall, and then the council members decided together.”

Mayor Barger is excited to have Abston return to the council. Abston will hold his seat on the council until the next reelection in 2025.
