Homecoming is an annual tradition for all high schools, the Brookwood community is gearing up for an exciting week of events this Homecoming week.

Brookwood High School’s Homecoming week is October 17th-21st. The community has lots of events planned before Homecoming week starts. The week of  October 12th, the floats will begin construction. By Wednesday, October 19th, the floats must be completed, and lineup will be set by Mrs. Cindy Shelby, teacher at Brookwood High School.

On Thursday, October 20th, the Homecoming parade will take place starting at Henry’s Restaurant and ending at the student parking lot at the high school. Line up for the parade will start at 6pm.

The parade will start at 7pm. The route will go down highway 216 at Henry’s, turn in at George Richmond Parkway, then turn in at the lower entrance of the high school, and finally, end at the student parking lot behind the gym.

Following the end of the parade, there will be a Spirit Night in the gravel pit (the JROTC field). At Spirt Night, float winners will be announced. There will be food trucks and live music. This year, there will be no bonfire.

On Friday, October 21st, there will be an Alumni Reception in the High School’s library at 12:30pm. At 2pm, the pep rally will begin in Brookwood High School’s gym. The Alumni will have a meet and greet at 5pm, and the kickoff for the football game is at 7pm. Brookwood is playing Northridge High School, which will be a regional game.

The Homecoming dance will be the following day, October 22nd, beginning at 7pm.

There are many events planned for the school, the community, and surrounding communities are encouraged to participate in any way possible.
